WHY CALVARY?

Are you looking for a church? Are you looking for community? Are you looking for purpose? Are you looking for truth?

We invite you to attend a worship service. If you want to commit to Calvary Christian Reformed Church and our ministry in the Twin Cities, here are steps you can take.

  1. Fill out a Connection Card in the Worship Center or contact a pastor in person or through phone or email.

  2. Enjoy a New Members Lunch to learn more about Calvary and ask any questions you may have. Click the link to learn more about who we are.

  3. Be approved by our church council to become a member.

  4. Join our church through baptism, profession of faith, or being welcomed during a Sunday service!

Plan to attend a conversation with Ray Pennings, executive vice president of Cardus, to explore data that describes the high correlation of Christian education to spiritual development. Arrive Ministries Language Training    Tuesday November 5 from 7-8:30 pm in the Refuge (lowest level, enter Door 3 southwest of building or Anchor Door on west side)   The Growing Participator Approach (GPA), endorsed by Wycliffe, is one of the most effective ways to learn language fluently. We have adapted this approach to also accommodate those teaching a language! Many of our volunteers are connecting with their refugee background friends by helping them practice English. Other volunteers have expressed interest in learning some phrases in Karen, Somali, Swahili, or Russian. We all know that language allows us to connect at a deeper level. Join us for this practical and interactive volunteer training where we share fundamentals of language learning. This approach is suitable for all learning types, is a communicative style, and patterned after child language acquisition. Whether you’re teaching a friend English or want to learn some phrases in a new language, this training will provide you with tools to dive deeper.  The speaker is   Melissa Petersen is the Outreach Developer for Somali Adult Literacy Training (SALT), Arrive Ministries’ program focused on engaging Somalis through literacy and friendship. Edina Chorale Love, Joy, and Peace Concerts    Friday December 6 at 7:30 pm in the Worship Center (Enter Door 2 on south side of the building)    Saturday December 14 at 3:00 pm in the Worship Center (Enter Door 2 on south side of the building)   We are excited to announce our 35th Anniversary Season exploring the theme of Legacy.
